The convenience of this tea is its strength. I drink puerh tea on most days of the week. This is the supply I keep at the office. The individual tea cakes are easy to store at my desk and brew with no mess. I've tried many of Jinglong's teas. While this tea holds its own in terms of flavor, it's not their highest quality ripe puerh--nor would I expect it to be. This is a medium-bodied, earthy tea, perfect for everyday drinking. Jinglong's website has brewing instructions for this exact tea. Of the multiple options, I use a teapot with infuser. The tea needs to be rinsed with boiling water and then steeped for 3-4 minutes. I tend to opt for the shorter steep time. The tea is good for two infusions (maybe more if you don't mind weak tea). The mini cake size is also good for travel. I've even taken these mini cakes on backpacking trips (in this case infusing them with a tea ball directly in the hot water as is also demonstrated on Jinglong's website).

Amazing how easy it can be to brew these cakes for on the go from home preparation. I use 16 ounce cups and my strainer and pour hot water onto the the tea and allow to steep for 6 minutes — an artificial time I’ve set for myself. I actually rinse before I brew in a separate porcelain container very quickly before brewing. I’ve been brewing Pu’er for about 3 years or less now and this is about as good as anything else I’ve tasted probably better than most as I’ve learned to pick better teas. It’s apparently clean and good quality. I’m an aspiring connoisseur and enjoying the journey

For the record, this received only four stars as I have nothing to compare it to; this was my first time trying Puerh tea. That said, I am completely satisfied with the tea. I enjoy strong tea, so I brew it for about 8 minutes. The result is a deep bodied, rich tea. I really enjoy it!

I had to post this for those curious. All of us have taken a walk on th wild side and thrown on some Pu Erh while ordering from our favorite tea supplier. Only to have it arrive and taste like rotten fish.I can't stress this enough....this stuff does not. It has a musky flavor that morphs into a mild sweetness? Hard to explain. As an American who has had nothing but garbage Pu Erh, with an unrefined Pu Erh pallet, I approve.Would also like to add I feel downright intoxicated after drinking one pick of this stuff. Brewed it 4 times and I have that weird almost drunk feeling from too much tea. That and the evacuation from my bowels this morning tell me it's got a solid amount of caffeine.

This tea is delicious! I brew it in 16 oz water, it becomes very dark and is sturdy enough to take the place of my morning coffee. I add just a touch of creamer and it's perfect. Then I brew the leaves 3-4 more times for iced tea.

I've really been enjoying this puerh tea, it has a nice comforting flavor, woody without being too bitter or sour. Plus, I like the presentation and the portion is great for sharing with my friends. You can make quite a few cups from a single portion, so it lasts for quite a while.

Good tea for the money. It has a great earthy taste that is very smooth. I drink it daily after lunch for an afternoon pick me up.They come in single serve packaging that is very convenient for a quick brew. Just take off the aluminum foil and it's ready to go.

Disclaimer: I was invited to write an early review for a $3 credit.I originally bought this after trying my first puer tea at a tea shop. I like my tea very strong, and the tea shop provided me a fancy (and expensive) puer tea that I really enjoyed and so I looked for some online. I find this puer not as strong, but the taste is amazing - so much so that, though I often add milk and sugar to black tea, I never do so with this tea because I don't want to spoil the taste (I rather have it with honey and lemon). So, all in all, a great tasting black tea - you get the caffeine benefits without any harsh taste. The packaging is also convenient and keeps it fresh.

The product arrived on time wrapped in individual serving size cakes which came in it's own zip lock paper bag. The taste is rich and flavorful, I add a touch of honey and it's absolutely perfect! I've switched from morning coffee to morning tea and couldn't be happier. It's a must try.
