As soon as I opened the tin of Harney’s English Breakfast Tea, a heady fragrance filled the room. The brew was rich yet mellow without a tinge of tannin or bitter aftertaste. Having tried over at least a dozen brands searching for that elusive blend I remember from childhood afternoon tea at Harrod’s, more decades ago than I’d like to admit, this is as close as my sense of smell and taste recall. It has been researched that smell is a retentive memory that is associated with indelible memories and this Harney’s does not disappoint me. The convenient sachet makes a lovely cuppa but not for a second fragrant refill so it is quite expensive - more than other brands (from Teapigs to the British imported Twinning, much less Lipton, Stash, Tazo, Tea Nation, Paul Newman, etc. ).This tea won’t be limited to just for a breakfast wake up call but an all day and evening reward - though I’m an Earl Grey fan, too!I think the reviewers who found Harney’s disappointing must have received an errant batch and hopefully, Harney’s has corrected previous errors in that blend or source and I won’t encounter this travesty in my future monthly orders.

If only the bubble wrap had been placed around the tin, instead of next to it! I was disappointed with the large dent. The tea bags, however, are exquisite, and the taste simply marvelous.
